IN DEVELOPMENT
The Lath
A remote applicator for FPV aircraft.
The Lath mounts under an FPV aircraft and holds a standard 12 oz aerosol can — marking paint or expanding foam. A control on the pilot's radio actuates the can, allowing paint or sealant to be applied remotely from the aircraft.
A lath is the wooden stake a surveyor drives into the ground to mark a point.
WHAT IT IS
Designed to adapt across aircraft
The Lath’s mounting system is designed to adapt across aircraft, with open-source, 3D-printable adapters so operators can build and share mounts for specific UAS platforms. Subject to mounting points and payload capacity.
No flight-controller integration required
A self-contained control system keeps the applicator independent of the aircraft's flight controller.
Built around off-the-shelf 12 oz cans
Designed around commonly available aerosol formats, beginning with marking paint and expanding foam. No proprietary consumable cartridge.
Fails to off
The actuator applies pressure only while commanded. Release the control — or lose the command signal — and the mechanism returns to the off position.
WHAT IT'S FOR

STATUS
The Lath is in development. Prototypes are being built and flown now, in Ohio, and the design keeps changing as testing teaches us things. It is not yet for sale, and there is no date to announce. If you'd like to know when that changes, leave an email below — that's all this page is for.
